PeopleVio vs Zimyo: An Honest Comparison (2026)

Zimyo is the broader, compliance-heavy suite; PeopleVio is the simpler, flat-priced portal. Price, PF/ESI, attendance, shifts and who each one fits, with PeopleVio's gaps stated plainly.
Zimyo and PeopleVio are both HRMS platforms built for Indian companies, and they sit at different points on the same spectrum. Zimyo is a broad suite with 60+ modules, statutory payroll compliance, biometric and GPS attendance and a wide set of add-ons. PeopleVio is a narrower product that puts attendance, leave, payroll, expenses, offer letters and assets in one portal at a flat per-employee price. Which one is better depends almost entirely on what you need the software to own.
This comparison is written by the PeopleVio team, so read it with that in mind. We have tried to state Zimyo's strengths plainly and PeopleVio's gaps honestly, because the wrong choice costs you a payroll cycle.
Zimyo's pricing and features below come from its public pages and third-party listings at the time of writing (September 2026). Plans change, so confirm current details with Zimyo directly.

Where Zimyo is the stronger choice
- Statutory compliance. Zimyo lists payroll runs with EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS and labour-code coverage, with payslips, Form 16 and challans from the same run. PeopleVio calculates PF and ESI and generates the ECR and ESIC return files with its EPFO and ESIC modules, but doesn't cover Professional Tax. If you want every statutory item, including PT, owned by the software, Zimyo covers more.
- Attendance depth. Biometric and GPS punch-in plus shift rosters suit factories, hospitals and retail with rotating shifts. PeopleVio takes geofenced browser check-ins and punches from ZKTeco-protocol biometric machines, with a configured office timing but no shift rosters.
- Breadth. Recruitment, performance reviews and OKRs, engagement, LMS and travel management are part of the Zimyo suite. PeopleVio has none of these.
- Mobile apps. Zimyo ships Android and iOS apps. PeopleVio is a responsive web app.
- A free trial. Zimyo lists a 14-day free trial with no credit card. PeopleVio works through a demo request.
- Scale. Zimyo is built to grow into large organisations. PeopleVio's sweet spot is smaller teams, and approvals are two-tier rather than multi-level chains.
Where PeopleVio is the stronger choice
- Price and simplicity. PeopleVio's rate is flat per active employee and falls as headcount grows: ₹59 per employee per month up to 25 employees, ₹49 for 26 to 100, ₹39 for 101 to 300 and ₹29 above that (₹49, ₹41, ₹33 and ₹25 on yearly billing). Every module is included, with no plan ladder to climb.
- No module gating. On Zimyo, expense management appears in the top-tier plan and asset management in the middle one, per its pricing page. On PeopleVio, expense claims, assets and offer letters come in the single price.
- A low entry point for small teams. Zimyo's India page shows a 50-user minimum. PeopleVio has no such minimum in its published tiers.
- Server-verified geofencing. Check-ins send raw coordinates to the server, which measures the distance itself and accepts or rejects the check-in. See our geofenced attendance guide for why that matters.
- Comp off. Employees request a compensatory day for working a holiday or weekly off, and redeem it once approved.
- A simple approval model. Profile changes, comp offs, resignations and expenses follow the same pattern: the employee submits and nothing applies until an admin approves. Small teams often find that easier to run than a configurable workflow engine.
- Multi-company isolation. Every company's data is isolated at the database level, which suits groups with several entities.
What each costs at your size
Using the published monthly rates:
| Employees | PeopleVio (monthly billing) | Zimyo Basic (₹80) | Zimyo Standard (₹160) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | ₹1,470 | below the 50-user minimum | below the 50-user minimum |
| 60 | ₹2,940 | ₹4,800 | ₹9,600 |
| 100 | ₹4,900 | ₹8,000 | ₹16,000 |
| 200 | ₹7,800 | ₹16,000 | ₹32,000 |
This is not an apples-to-apples comparison. Zimyo's Basic price includes payroll compliance, shift rosters and mobile apps that PeopleVio does not offer, and add-on modules are priced separately. Compare what you would actually use, and check both vendors' current rate cards.
An honest note on PeopleVio's gaps
If any of these are on your must-have list, Zimyo is the more direct match:
- PF and ESI calculation and filing, gratuity and final settlement
- Shift scheduling and overtime rules
- Performance reviews, OKRs and applicant tracking
- An installable mobile app
- Multi-level approval chains
- A self-serve free trial
PeopleVio does cover TDS with old and new regime rules and employee tax declarations, when an admin turns TDS on in company settings.
Who should choose which
Choose Zimyo if you want statutory payroll compliance inside the software, run rotating shifts, need performance, recruitment or engagement modules, or expect to grow into a large organisation.
Choose PeopleVio if you are a small or mid-size team that wants attendance, leave, payroll, expenses, offer letters and assets in one simple portal, you want PF and ESI calculated in the same payroll (with PT handled separately), and you want a low flat price with no module gating.
How to decide in a week
- List your five must-haves and mark which are compliance, attendance depth or breadth.
- Start Zimyo's free trial and request a PeopleVio demo on the same day.
- Load ten real employees, your locations and one payroll scenario into each.
- Compare the payslips line by line, and ask each vendor what it does not do.
- Get the total price at your headcount and at 1.5 times your headcount in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Is PeopleVio cheaper than Zimyo? On published monthly rates, yes: ₹49 per employee for 26 to 100 employees on PeopleVio against ₹80 on Zimyo Basic. But Zimyo's Basic price includes statutory compliance, shift rosters and mobile apps that PeopleVio doesn't offer, so compare what you would use.
Does PeopleVio handle PF and ESI like Zimyo? No. Zimyo lists EPF, ESI, Professional Tax and TDS in its payroll compliance. PeopleVio calculates PF and ESI with its EPFO and ESIC modules and TDS when enabled, and generates the ECR and ESIC return files; it doesn't cover Professional Tax.
Does Zimyo offer a free trial? Its India pricing page lists a 14-day free trial with no credit card. PeopleVio doesn't have a self-serve trial; you request a demo and the team sets up a workspace for your company.
Which is better for a 50-person company? It depends on your needs. If you need PF and ESI in the software or run shifts, Zimyo. If you want a simple portal at a lower price and an accountant handles PF and ESI, PeopleVio.
Which is better for a company with rotating shifts? Zimyo, which lists shift rosters. PeopleVio can take biometric punches but has no shift scheduling.
Does PeopleVio have a mobile app? There is no installable app. PeopleVio is a responsive web app that works from a phone browser. Zimyo has Android and iOS apps.
Can I switch from Zimyo to PeopleVio or the other way round? Yes, but plan a parallel payroll cycle and confirm how you would export employee and payroll history from the outgoing system.
Does Zimyo have a minimum number of employees? Its India pricing page shows a minimum of 50 users, though regional pages and third-party listings differ, so confirm with Zimyo.
The bottom line
Zimyo is the broader, more compliance-heavy platform, with statutory payroll, shift rosters, mobile apps and a suite that stretches into performance and recruitment. PeopleVio is the simpler, lower-priced option with every module in one flat price, and it now calculates PF and ESI too, while leaving Professional Tax and shift planning to you. Pick by your must-haves, not by the longer feature list, and test both with your own data before you sign.
