FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything teams usually ask before onboarding onto PeopleVio. Don't see your question — ask us directly.

How is my company's data isolated from other companies on PeopleVio?

PeopleVio is multi-tenant from the ground up — every record is scoped to a company ID at the database level, so one tenant can never see or query another tenant's employees, payroll, or documents.

How long does it take to set up?

We get your company and its first admin account ready the same day you reach out — you can start adding employees and running attendance right away.

Does PeopleVio handle Indian payroll compliance?

Yes — salary structures (Basic / HRA / Allowances / Deductions), INR payslips, and Indian holiday calendars are built in, matching how Indian companies actually run payroll.

Can employees edit their own official data directly?

No. Profile changes, resignations, comp offs and expenses always follow the same pattern: the employee submits a request, and nothing is applied until an admin approves it.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet — PeopleVio is a responsive web app, so check-in/out, leave, and approvals all work well from a phone browser, with geofencing validated server-side via the browser's location API.

How does geofenced attendance work?

Admins set one or more office locations with a radius under Settings. When locations are configured, employees must be physically within range to check in or out — validated server-side, not just on the device.

What happens to an approved expense claim?

Approved-but-unpaid claims are automatically swept into the next payroll run as a reimbursement, added to that month's net pay — no manual tracking needed.

Can admins correct attendance manually?

Yes — the admin team grid shows whole-company attendance for a month at a glance, and admins can mark or edit any employee's attendance directly from it.

How does comp off work?

Employees can request a compensatory day off for working on a weekly-off or holiday date. Once an admin approves it, the employee redeems it against a date of their choosing.

What happens when an employee resigns?

Resignation is employee-initiated and admin-approved. Once approved, the employee is automatically marked inactive — no separate offboarding step.

Can I pay variable amounts like incentives or commissions?

Yes — beyond the fixed salary structure, admins can add custom pay components (earnings or deductions) for any employee, for roles with variable pay.
